Do something different!

Hello! I'll just skip the part where I apologize for my absence and cut straight to the chase. Let's go!

Today we're talking about something that can really change your day. The best part is that it entails a minimum (or zero) effort from you.

It's quite simple: do something different every day!

And I'm talking about really basic stuff here. In the bus, you always travel in the same sit, right? Well, make a change. Or, if you are used to paint your nails blue, paint them red. You tend to eat cereal for breakfast? Go wild and try a toast. In the shower we tend to follow a specific order while washing...our...body...parts? Well, why don't you start with your legs instead of going for the arms?

I know it sounds silly but I also promise it will make a difference in your life. Routine is everywhere and, while we like it in some aspects of our life, it can be really depressing if we do the exact same things, all the time.

Give it a try for a few days and let me know how it went, ok? Do me a favor and have a great weekend!

Hi Spring!

That's right! Where I come from, Spring has arrived. Yesterday was the first day of Spring. Which is weird 'cause, when I was little, Spring started at the 21st, in the World Tree Day - today! I suppose "they" change these things whenever they want.

Anyway, we have been enjoying some sunny days, after weeks of non-stopping rain and today the sky is all cloudy and rain is expected to come by tomorrow. Makes sense (actually, it does makes sense; Spring often comes with tons of rain).

Talking about the weather: this is where my creativity ends! But you have to admit it's a topic which anyone can relate to, so...it's kind of an efficient matter.

I promised I'd be more present in this space so I'm making an effort. Yei? And this is a positive space so I had to give a proper welcome to your favorite season of the year!

Enjoy this colorful days! And keep passing by for more smiles.

Things you shouldn't do

Hello!!! I'm back after a month with no access to the Internet and what so ever. That's a lie. I've been trying to live without any type of technology and that's also a lie. I've been very very sick. That's a lie and probably a sin. I'm just no good. I'm a mess. I'm so sorry for leaving you like this. That's also a lie, I know you don't give a F ^^ and I love you for it!

So, I'm just a lazy bastard without any type of creativity, since I'm apparently incapable of maintaining this blog with regular posts. It's a matter of habit I think. I can change! Give me one more chance!

Moving forward, I thought I'd make this post on "THINGS YOU SHOULDN'T DO". And there's a LOT of those but we'll keep a short list, okey dokey?

Let's begin!

THING Nº1 - DON'T KEEP THAT SCUMBAG FRIEND OF YOURS
You know what I'm talking about, that friend of yours, from school, that treats you like crap. Yeah, the one that claims he's your best friend but talks shit about you whenever he has the chance. That person who's apparently incapable of saying anything nice about you. He likes to boss you around and you find him really annoying. He loves to humiliate you in front of other people - and he does it like it's a joke. It's funny, it's your thing. It's NOT a joke. You are the joke in this game.
You SHOULDN'T keep this so called "friendship". Get away from that person! Time will only make it worse and eventually, you'll look at yourself and you will be an adult stuck to this horrible human being and, yeah, you will be the ONLY friend he has left and he will stalk you for he's an attention whore. Leave him! Break up, before it's too late. I know what I'm talking about. And NO, he is NOT your friend. He just uses you to feel better about himself - I'm using the male form but this also applies to girls, ok?

THING Nº2 - IF YOU DON'T WANT IT, DON'T DO IT
Think about that really cool thing that would change your life forever. People around you make you think you want that. Society shows you that's the way to go. Whether is participating in this contest or making this video or applying to that college.
Take a minute to THINK. Do YOU want that for you? Do you really want to be a singer/artist/famous person/whatever? Do you really want to put yourself online, do you really want to become a doctor?
If you don't really want to do it, don't do it! It's your life! Just because it's somebody else's dream, it doesn't mean it has to be your dream. Think about it. Or you'll end up givin' up in the middle of it and thinking to yourself: I'm stupid. Why did I do this in the first place? What the f'in F?

THING Nº3 - DON'T BE A "FRIEND"
Don't be that scumbag "friend" we talked about in "THING Nº1". Don't be that guy who's mean just because he can. Don't use the people that care about you like they're your own personal object. And don't be an "over-attached friend", that's just annoying. The "you never call me", "I AM you best friend right? You like me more than any of the others, right?", "What? I wasn't the first to know that you got a girlfriend??? I thought we were best friends!". Really...stop that shit, what the hell? Your friend doesn't owe you anything and he's not your property. Be nice and he will want to call you and tell you stuff. Be a moron and he will keep his distance. It's simple.

Anyway, the list goes on and on but we'll keep it like this for now. By the way, thing nº2? Yeah...I had a really strange week. I was close to do this really (apparently) cool thing and when the time came I realized I don't want that for my life. And I felt stupid 'cause I kinda made a commitment and ended up quitting.

I'll try to be more assiduous in this blog. That's what I SHOULD do, 'cause I WANT TO do it. Crucial words we have here.

See you later, alligator!

P.S.: It's Friday again! This is awesome!

The 14th!

IT has arrived! What? What in the world am I talking about (you ask)???

Well. You might as well wake up and look at your calendar (or this entry's title). It's February 14th a.k.a. the most hated day of the year, for some, and a beautiful day, for others.

I felt the urge to post today. Why (you ask)? Because I know you're probably on the "haters' side" of this text. I know the feel' bro'. Been there, done that. A long time ago, when I was a (un)happy single girl I used to have this sentence I ALWAYS said in this particular day: another Saint Valentine's day without a boyfriend. And you know what? I was stupid. Therefore, YOU are stupid. I'm sorry to put it like this. But it's the truth. For the love of God or Gandalf or Dumbledore or whoever the heck you want!!! Newsflash: you don't need a boyfriend/girlfriend! I didn't need one back then and I don't need one now. I mean, I love my boyfriend and I need him beside me because I love him BUT the idea of having someone beside me, romantically speaking? Having A boyfriend/girlfriend just because? I'm sorry. That's stupid. And I'll take that back: I'm not sorry.

This day is about celebrating love! Friendship, why not? Family. Your pet (whom I know you love, don't give me that "oh no, I'm so insensitive and I don't have feelings..." crap)!
Most importantly, this day is about you! Like every other day, it's about you doing what you LOVE the most. And sitting around feeling sorry for yourself is not an option.

You know what? Enjoy your single years! I'm glad I've learned how to appreciate that before it was too late. Every single stage of your life has its enchantments. What I'm trying to say is: yes, I love my man and I want him beside me but that's just because I know him! Because he's a part of my life, not because he's THE boyfriend. That, my dear friend, doesn't mean squad. You will not be happier just for having someone to put that label on. No. You will be happy, yes, when you start appreciating your life. Those little pieces that form your history, single parts included.

So today, appreciate the fact that you don't have a commitment. Go out with your other single friends, go to the movies, stay home, play with your cat (or dog, I don't care), do a good deed and babysit your nephew so that your sister can have a rare alone time with her husband. Spread love and joy. And, please, DO NOT feel sorry for yourself! That's just idiotic. And don't give the "that's easy for you to say, you have a boyfriend" crap, 'cause I've been where you are, forever alone and heart broken and all that boohoo stuff and, trust me, it's not that bad. We just tend to make up problems in our minds and we can actually be real drama queens. It's your loss. You're wasting your "alone" years.

Now, that's sad

Anyway, with or without someone, whether you like this day or it's completely indifferent to you, enjoy it. It's another day in your life. It's the (and a) present and you deserve to live it fully.

So...be happy! I'll see you later. I hope you're not mad at me, I wish someone had told me this stuff a few years ago.

See you later, alligator!

P.S.: Aaaand today is Friday! Hurray!

The list

Hello!!!
Are you excited!?!? Yeah, well, you should be! Tomorrow is Saturday and, YES, you will have a great day. Speaking of which, I bought a t-shirt yesterday (sales rules) that says: "Let's have a great day", and has some birds on it and flowers and stuff. I hope I'll have some awesome days this Summer so that I can properly enjoy the t-shirt. I can't always wear black. Well, I actually can, but I like to wear other colors once in a while. Specially, during the sunny season of the year.

In fact, maybe it's already Saturday there! Well, do me a favor and enjoy it! Ok? Ok.

So, today I am gonna make a list of the things that make me happy. Why? I know you don't care ^^ don't worry, but MAYBE some of the things that make ME smile, are also capable of making your day. It's quite possible, right?

Sorry, I'm late

I shall begin this entry by saying "I'm sorry". Yup. I haven't been much of a blogger lately. Oh, the shame! It's been almost a month since my last post but, hey, I'm back!

As you may know from previous publications, I'm currently unemployed and...yeah, just as expected: it sucks. Really, it's annoying. Today, for instances, I received an e-mail, a response from one of the companies to which I sent my resume. My heart jumped, I opened an e-mail and...another "unfortunately we are not hiring new collaborators at the moment". It's kinda depressing. I've already received four responses like that...five? Whatever. One of them came with a bonus. It said something like "don't give up your dream" at the end. Really? Well...you are definitely NOT helping, you know that?

So, yeah. This is a positive blog. A happy blog. But we can't always be happy. That would only happen if we had some serious emotional problems. Bu we can't give up. Ever. Giving up would be taking the easy and useless path.

I could just end this blog like I did to many others. I could spend my days laying around, not looking for a job, like I see most of my unemployed family members do. I could just give up. You could also give up. But we don't do that! Not in a million years! Not after a million negative responses - and I really hope it won't come to that! We keep fighting and we will succeed. Or we'll die trying (that would be kinda dramatic...).

On another topic, yesterday I saw a really (apparently) cheesy movie that ended up being really cute and kinda lovely. Me and my brother saw "About Time", from Richard Curtis, starring Rachel McAdams and Domhnall (how the Hell do you spell that???) Gleeson. I gave it a 7 on IMDB. It was cute and different from the usual romantic crap, which is always nice.

And I just began watching "Shameless". What do you think? I'm just heading to the second episode so...I really can't give an opinion just yet. But it's with that girl from "The Phantom of the Opera"! And yeah, I know everyone is going nuts with "Game of Thrones" but I'm reading the books and I really don't want to imagine the actors while I'm reading (I'm sort of a book nerd and I really like to picture everything in my mind, without exterior influences) so I'll watch the show after reading all the books. Considering that the chronicles are yet to be finished...that will be in ten years from now...maybe. I don't know.

So, good night everybody! I promise I'll be a much more present blogger!

See you later, alligator!

It's Friday night!

Aaaaand...it's Friday
Trust me! I'm telling the truth! You made it through this week and now you are going to have the weekend you deserve!

I know, you're exhausted, right? With work, meetings, Christmas, family reunions and so ever.

Now wait a minute. Sit down. Are you sitting? Of course you are, you're on the computer. Now, take a deep breath...

A deep one. Inhale, exhale...deeeeeeply.

Now RAISE YOUR ARMS and yell: WOOOHHOOOO! (ok, maybe I went to far with that one. I don't have that much of a power over you, do I? No, really...do I? Did you yell? You're a strange fellow...I like you.)

Anyway, I can't think of a better feeling (lying... cough cough you pervert (!), what did you think I was insinuating (?) cough cough I'm thinking about eating pizza, of course cough cough) than the one we get at a Friday night when we know we can sleep all morning the next day. We don't have to, maybe we won't, but we CAN! Hell yeah! And today you can give yourself an extra night time. You've earned it.

You can watch a movie. You can play Sims 2 (I'm not the only one who still does it, am I?) until you're bored - 30 minutes or so -, or you can go out with your friends, your dog, your boyfriend, I don't really care....anyone who makes you happy. Enjoy your Friday night - what time is it there, by the way? -.

As a soon-to-be-official-unemployed-citizen (this sounds weird), I've been really confused about...anything "calender related", actually, so, Friday, Tuesday, Sunday...it's all the same for me. But, you know, I'm happy for you.

Keep in touch! And take the time to follow me on Twitter and like this blog of ours on Facebook! Thank you!

See you later, alligator!
